Shikai (Acacia Cancinna) :
Acacia Concinna is a small shrub-like tree, which grows in the warm, dry plains of central India . For centuries the people who have had access to this tree have used its pod-like fruit to clean their hair. It's considered a superior cleanser for "lustrous long hair" and has been reported as "promoting hair growth and preventing dandruff. It also helps in removing dandruff and lice & very effective in removing oil and dirt from hair . It has a natural low pH, is extremely mild, and doesn't strip hair of natural oils. Usually no rinse or conditioner is used since shikakai also acts as a detangler. This ancient product is probably the world's original pH balanced shampoo.
Amla (Emblica Officinalis) :
Amla is the name given to the fruit of a small leafy tree (Emblica Officinalis). Amla grows across India. It is highly prized as it is high in vitamin C and provides precious amla oil which is extracted from its seed and pulp. Amla purified blood and improves skin texture. The oil extracted from amla is widely used for treatment for hair and scalp problems. It is also used in numerous medicinal preparations, general in vitality tonics. Amla mixed with Henna, Shikakai, Tulsi and other herbs is the best nutrition for hair and scalp. This cures hair fall, hair graying, dandruff etc. Amla is also for hair coloring. It also beautifies hair, while adding shine & volume.
Brahmi (Bacopa Monniera) :
Reetha powder is prepared from dried fruit of Reetha. It can be used as a face pack to improve facial complexion. It is used as a hair application to make hair shiny and their beautification. It also removes dandruff and lice in hair. It can also be used to clean jewelry and washing woolen clothes. It is used in Ayurvedic preparations and Herbal Shampoos.
Bhring Raj (Elcipta Alba) :
Eclipta alba is one of the most popular herbs which is used in hair oils. For healthy black and long hair the it is commonly used in hair oils all over India. Bhring raj is also used to prevent habitual abortion and miscarriage and also in cases of post-delivery uterine pain. The juice of the plant with honey is given to infants with castor oil for expulsion of worms. Fumigation with Eclipta alba is considered beneficial in piles. By mincing fresh plants a paste is prepared which has got an anti-inflammatory effect, this paste is applied to insect bites, stings, swellings and other skin diseases.

It is an aid to growing new tissue and alleviating the advance of skin cancer caused by the sun. It is a treatment for ringworm, boils, inflamed joints, scalds, itchy allergic conditions, insect stings and bites. It creates a definite softening of external skin, relief from dry or sensitive skin and skin diseases. Dentists and oral surgeons employ Aloe Vera Gelly for surgery, swift healing, relief of pain and other oral treatment, including mouth ulcers, fever blisters, cold sores and cankers.
Tulsi (Ocimum Sanctum) :
Ocimum sanctum (holy basil), called Tulsi in India , is ubiquitous in Hindu tradition. Perhaps its role as a healing herb was instrumental in its "sacred" implication. Tulsi have antibacterial, anti fungal, antiviral & de-toxicant properties, its regular use prevents heart attacks. The leaves in the form of a paste are used in parasitical diseases of the skin and also applied to the finger and toenails during fever when the limbs are cold. The drinking of Tulsi-leaf tea keeps one free from cough and colds and other ailments associated with 'Kapha' dosha in the body. This tea is an instant pick-me-up (energy drink) also.
Rose Petal Powder :
Use this fragrant, astringent powder in body powders, facials, salt scrubs, milk baths, and soap. Rose petal powder adds a nice relaxing aroma to body wrap blends. A mixture of rose petal powder, lemon peel powder and multani mitti clay and yogurt or pureed strawberries will pull oils from the skin and stimulate circulation. Add a little neem powder to this recipe for acne prone skin. Rose powder can vary in color ranging from dusty rose to beige to dark brown. It does not remain red after the roses are dried.
